Unity and Solidarity

To serve as a symbol to Greenwood and North Tulsa that the City of Tulsa has never forgotten the horrible events that took place starting May 30th, 1921. That Greenwood and North Tulsa is never forgotten and the City sees you.

To serve as a beacon for unity. We have been a divided city, whether we agree on that or not, and we have lost the ability to sit down with each other and have civil discourse. We hope this inspires more discussion, moments of education and impact, and really seeing each other.

For Our Tulsa Community:

“Go Green for Greenwood is an incredible movement and testament to what happens when Tulsans come together around a shared mission to not only remember our past but join together to create a bright future for everyone impacted by the historic wounds inflicted on our
community 104 years ago,” Mayor Monroe Nichols said.

“As we continue the process of healing, and as we reflect on the events of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre during Tulsa’s new observance day this year, I’m grateful for the ability to join our Greenwood and North Tulsa communities in this critical moment of our city’s history.”

In tribute to the indomitable spirit and enduring legacy of the Greenwood district, we are proud to start year three of the annual Greenwood Remembrance, also known as, “GO GREEN FOR GREENWOOD”. We call upon all Tulsa companies to unite with us by illuminating their business lights downtown Tulsa and beyond in solid green from May 30th to June 1st, marking the commencement of this annual remembrance.

Don your green attire and share your support on social media using the hashtag #GoGreenForGreenwood.

The driving forces behind this initiative are Mr. Greenwood Tony Williams, a devoted entrepreneur and advocate for the Greenwood community, and Niyo Little Thunder Pearson, a distinguished global cybersecurity expert and community champion. Together with esteemed organizations and individuals, we stand united in preserving the memory of Greenwood and nurturing its ongoing revitalization.
